We welcome volunteers and visitors by appointment only. We allow the public to visit the horses, and assist with things such as grooming and socializing the horses. If you are interested in setting up an appointment please contact us, and a team member will contact you soon!

Georgia Draft Horse Rehabilitation and Recovery, Inc. devotes its energy to passionately advocating for the neglected, ill and injured Draft Horse. We specialize in helping the Draft Horse breeds, but we are not limited to only helping heavy horses; we will accept other breeds as well! We specialize in medically challenging cases such as injured horses or horses with illnesses. We are proud to offer assistance to other Equine Rescues that may not specialize in working with the heavy Draft Horse breeds. Browse our website or contact us to find out how you can contribute to building a new future for a draft horse in need.

GDHRR's Co-Founder and Vice President. Nick is also in charge of all facility maintenance.

Most of our horses are available for adoption after rehabilitation. Our goal is to "rescue, rehab, re-home", though some horses will have such severe medical needs that they may end up as a permanent resident with us. Please click the link below to view our horses that are available for adoption.

We recently had 3 horses, 1 donkey and a cow join us from a neglect case in Fulton County. These animals will be available for adoption pending the outcome of the previous owner's court hearing.

A Young 3-Year-Old Boy Finds Confidence in Handling a Large Percheron Draft Horse

At the age of 3, this little boy who once feared small ponies, felt secure riding and handling a Percheron that outweighed him by 1,500+ pounds! Notice how the boy calmly handles the horse on a loose lead, and how she lowers her head in a very submissive manner for him. This boy is now 7 years old and still has a beautiful love for Draft Horses that this horse, Snow White instilled in him at a very young age. Snow White will forever remain in our hearts, and will forever serve as an inspiration to continue helping Draft Horses in need.
